Mexico to Increase Its IMF Contribution
March 2012The Mexican senate voted on March 1, 2012 to increase Mexico's contribution to the IMF, international monetary fund, to about $ 14 billion.
71 were in favor of the bill while 10 were against.
The increased contribution will enable Mexico to get better terms from the IMF funds if needed in future.
The senate's bill has to be approved by the lower house in Mexico.
Mexico's Industrial Output Drops
October 2011The Mexican statistics agency announced that Mexico's industrial output dropped sharply 1.1% in August compared to July, the biggest drop in the last two years.
The 1.1% drop follows preliminary forecasts of a small 0.15% drop.
