Netherlands: sluggish growth in 2023
January 2023Dutch GDP is forecast to grow by a mediocre 0.4% in 2023 and a close-to-normal 1.4% in 2024.
A short and mild recession is forecast to last until the first quarter of 2023, with GDP moderately picking up during the rest of 2023.
Inflation has peaked but remains high, as core inflation is still on the rise.
Netherlands Credit Rating Downgrade
November 2013The credit rating agency S&P downgraded on November 29, 2013 Netherlands credit rating by one step, from the previous perfect AAA to AA+ due to deteriorated prospects of the economic growth.
Now only three eurozone countries have a prefect AAA rating by S&P, Germany, Finland and Luxembourg.
Netherlands' 2011 Deficit
February 2012According to a release by the Dutch ministry of finance preliminary data for 2011 show a budget deficit of 4.8% of the gross domestic product.
The estimate is a deterioration of 0.2% compared with the Autumn estimate, resulting inter-alia from tax revenues which were lower than expected.
Netherlands' GDP Q2 Rise
August 2011According to estimates by Statistics Netherlands the growth in the second quarter was only 0.1% compared to the first quarter of 2011, A substantial slow down compared to the first quarter in which the GDP rose by 0.8% compared to the preceding quarter.
