
Albania taxes 2025
February 2025The main tax changes in Albania in 2025 are: 1. New progressive taxation regime for employment income: This includes setting annual thresholds and tax rates.
2. Personal income tax rates for business income: There are different rates for self-employed individuals and registered entrepreneurs.
3. Corporate income tax: All entities are deemed taxpayers for corporate income tax purposes, with a standard rate and alternative rates for specific entities.

Albania Slovakia DTA
March 2024The 2023 double tax agreement, DTA, between Albania and Slovakia will enter into force on April 1, 2024 applying from January 1, 2025.
According to the DTA the tax withholding rates for payments of dividends will be 5%/8%, depending on the percentage of the shareholding in the paying company's share capital.
The withholding rate for payments of interest will be 8%, 10% for payments of royalties.
Albania V.A.T. 2018
February 2018Starting January 1, 2018 the V,A.T. threshold turnover for non agricultural products is reduced from ALL 5 million to ALL 2 million.
The threshold for agricultural products remains at ALL 5 million.
The ALL, Albanian Lek exchange rate is around 1 USD equals 107 ALL.
Albania New Tax Withholding Rates
December 2014Starting January 1, 2015 the new tax withholding rates for payments of dividends, interest and royalties will rise from the current 10% rate to 15%.
Albania U.K. Tax Treaty
February 2014The double tax treaty, DTA, which was signed by the two countries in 2013 entered into force on December 30, 2013.
The tax withholding rates according to the tax treaty are 5%/10%/15% for payment of dividends, 6% for interest and exemption for royalties.
The tax treaty applies in Albania starting January 1, 2014 and will apply in the U.K. starting April 1, 2014.
