May 2012According to data released by the Irish central statistics office the industrial production in March 2012 decreased by 2.5% compared to February 2012 and by 5.6% compared to March 2011.
The industrial turnover in March 2012 increased by 3.2% when compared to February 2012 and by 2.7% when compared to March 2011.
Ireland's Credit Rating Downgrade by Moody's
July 2011Moody's credit rating agency downgraded on July 12 Ireland's bond rating by one step, from the previous Baa3 to Ba1 with a negative outlook.
The downgrade follows growing concern that the current EU- IMF bailout would not be sufficient for the Irish economy.
Irish GDP 1.2% Decline
September 2010Ireland's statistics office released initial estimates regarding the second quarter.The estimate shows a decrease of 1.2% in the second quarter GDP compared to the previous Quarter.
The decline surprised most economists who have predicted a 0.5% growth of the GDP.
The GNP decreased by 0.3% compared to the first quarter.
